MY READING LIST

I read.
A lot.
Both fiction and non-fiction.

I have decided to keep track of the books I read and thought others might find my list interesting.
I often have more than one book on the go at the same time, so will include what I am currently reading on this list, but will only rate it once I have actually finished reading the book.
If there is no rating, it means I am still in the process of reading the book.
I won’t write any reviews, as I really haven’t the time to do so, but will rate the books I finish using the following simple system:

* Terrible! Boring and/or confusing. Ended up skimming and/or had to force myself to finish it.
* * Meh! Didn’t have to skim to finish it, but was glad to reach the end nevertheless. Can’t recommend.
* * * Very Good! Enjoyed thoroughly and would recommend without hesitation.
* * * * Fantastic! Loved it with a capital L! Have read it before and/or would read it again.

Note:  I became a member of the Orlean’s Ladies Book Club in December 2014

MY DAILY READINGS

The following books are written in the form of 365 short essays, which are meant to be read daily, one essay / devotional / meditation / lesson for each day of the year. I really love my “Daily Readings” and after 2 years of “Daily Readings”, my day just doesn’t seem complete now if I miss them. They really help me to keep focused on what is most important in my life.

DR1: On January 1, 2014, I started reading Zen – One Day At A Time by Herve DesBois.  Really can’t recommend it highly enough 🙂

DR2: In late March, 2014, I started reading Wayne Dyer’s Wisdom Of The Ages. Unlike the other books on my DR List, there are only 60 essays in this book, not 365. I still usually read one daily, so I end up going through this book 3-4 times a year.

DR3: In October, 2014 I started studying A Course in Miracles. It is deep and profound and might better be referred to as a “tome” rather than a book. I don’t read it daily, but try to dip into it several times/week.

DR4: In February, 2015 I started reading Marianne Williamson’s A Year of Miracles: Daily Devotions and Reflections.  A little daily MW is just good for the soul I think 🙂

DR5: In September, 2015, I started reading Sarah Ban Breathnach’s Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort & Joy. I’ve read this book many, many times over the years and it’s one of my all time faves.
