Coloured Pencil on Drafting Film Please email to inquire about purchasing this original drawing. PURCHASE AN OPEN EDITION PRINT There are three different species of Zebra: the Grévy's Zebra (Equus grevyi), Plains Zebra (E. quagga), and the Mountain Zebra (E. zebra). Zebras inhabit eastern and southern Africa and can be found in a variety of habitats such as savannahs, grasslands, woodlands, shrublands, and mountainous areas. Zebra stripes come in different patterns, unique to each individual, just as fingerprints are to humans. Lions, hyenas, wild dogs, and cheetahs are among the zebras’ natural predators; however, the largest threat to the zebra is linked to human hunting and habitat loss or fragmentation. Habitat loss due to human encroachment, agricultural practices, and livestock grazing remains an issue in the ongoing conservation of this species. The Zebra can live up to 25 years in the wild.
